Biography
Biography:
Peeter Vesik works at British Columbia Rapid Transit Company (BCRTC) which operates and maintains the Expo and Millennium lines of Vancouver’s SkyTrain system.
He began his work at BCRTC in 2016 as a Technical Analyst, and is currently a Project Manager for track and rail maintenance related capital projects. During his time at BCRTC, Peeter spent most of time analyzing and reporting on rail geometry, wear trends, corrugation, and defects. Peeter has been extensively involved with the development of a system-wide rail grinding program, as well as the development of the capital re-railing program. Peeter was the BCRTC lead on the 2-year SkyTrain noise mitigation study, which thoroughly investigated the effectiveness and feasibility of top-of-rail friction modifiers, using harder rail steels, rail dampers, acoustic rail grinding, and improvements to track switch maintenance from both a noise reduction and maintenance perspective.
