Biography: Jon has over fifteen years experience in the rail industry working in a number of roles. For the past five years Jon has worked in an applications role at L.B. Foster. Jon also chairs the European Standards group, TC256/SC2/WG38 which is updating the EN15427 standard on lubrications and composing new sections on to this standard on Top of Rail Materials and Adhesion Materials.
This presentation will give an overview of the purpose of friction management. It will detail the types of products used and application technology, as well as an insight into their performance and methods to assess different materials.
