Biography: Davey Mitchell is a Commercial Manager at LB Foster Rail Technologies, where he has worked in various technical and commercial roles for the past 13 years to develop solutions for issues of noise, friction, and wear at the wheel-rail interface. Davey started his career with Kelsan Technologies before its acquisition by LB Foster. In his early years, his primary focus as a systems engineer was on the development of autonomous train-mounted onboard spray systems designed to efficiently apply Friction Modifier materials to the top-of-rail surface. In his middle years, Davey provided the technical support for all of LB Foster’s Friction Management products in the Western US, including trackside and solid stick application systems. More recently, Davey has taken on the commercial role of ensuring that all Transit Agencies and OEMs in North America have access to the best Friction Management solutions possible. Davey holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia, is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia, and spends his free time skiing, mountain biking, and volunteering on the board of directors for his local mountain bike association.
