F. G. Wyman Jones

Biography: Wyman Jones is Director of Rail Operations Engineering & Strategic Planning of Metro Rail Operations for Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority. He oversees the Operational Systems - Track, Power, Signals, Ventilation and Stations associated with the existing and new rail lines in the Greater L.A. area. And he provides oversight of the system’s growth and expansion to ensure that the development and operation of the rail transit system is safe, reliable and efficient.
Wyman has more than 40 years’ experience in Rail System Design, Operational Evaluations for Heavy Freight Rail, Commuter Rail Services, and Light and Heavy Rail Transit Systems. His wheel/rail, track/train dynamics experience began at Canadian National, when investigations into wheel/rail interaction was still in its infancy, way back in the early 70s.
He holds a BS, is a Professional Engineer, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and a World Safety Organization-Certified Safety and Security Director.
