Randy Jamieson
Principal
Biography: Randall Jamieson is a Principal at Atticus Consulting Group LLC. Randall has more than 35 years of experience in safety, operating practices, regulatory compliance, and senior operations and safety management with Class I and short line railroads and public transportation organizations in the US and Canada. Randall has worked as a Federal Railroad Administration, Motive Power and Equipment Inspector with the Texas Department of Transportation. He also held the position of Vice President of Safety Leadership with Aubre Daniels, an international behavioral safety and organizational change consulting firm. Randall has conducted a broad spectrum of human factors-related root cause investigations of railroad and public transportation accidents. In 2011, he and Dr. Daniel Smilek, formed the Atticus Consulting Group LLC. Most recently, Randall and Dr. Daniel Smilek along with a team of researchers from Dr. Smilek’s research lab at the University of Waterloo, Canada, completed a comprehensive assessment of workplace distraction and attention-related errors in Amtrak’s Northeast corridor train operations and a human factor analysis of Amtrak’s I-ETMS and X-ITCS Positive Train Control Systems.
