Biography

Dion Church, P.Eng.

Biography: Dion is a mechanical engineer with international rail industry experience gained in North America, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. He relocated to Canada in August 2016 and is now based in SNC-Lavalin's office in Burlington, Ontario.
Dion has 20 years of experience in the field of rail vehicle dynamics and associated testing, covering areas such as safety against derailment, stability, curving, ride performance and kinematic gauging. His experience includes assignments in the passenger, freight and infrastructure sectors. Dion is an experienced user of VAMPIRE® dynamic simulation software and has carried out numerous assignments to develop and validate vehicle simulation models.
Dion has a BE (Hons) degree from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand and is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario. Dion is also a member of the APTA working group for Recommended Practice for New Truck Design.
