Biography

Gordon Bachinsky

Gordon Bachinsky

Advanced Rail Management Corporation

Biography: Gordon Bachinsky is President of Advanced Rail Management Corporation (ARM). He has more than 35 years of experience working in the railway, rail transit, and railway service / contracting industries. He began his railway career as an apprentice electrician and then moved to the Industrial Engineering Department of Canadian National Railway. He then worked in the Equipment Engineering Department of the Toronto Transit Commission and as a Senior Engineer in the Controls Division of Harris Corporation, before starting ARM in 1990. As president of ARM, he has led several ground-breaking studies on wheel and rail wear mechanisms, and implemented corrective maintenance programs on many railways and rail transit systems. He also founded and presents the annual Wheel/Rail Interaction seminar, which has been held annually for the past 23 years.

Gordon holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba. He is a licensed professional engineer in the Province of Ontario and a member of IEEE and AREMA, serving on Committees 2 and 4.
