An FTA sponsored project to develop integrated wheel/rail analytics on MTA-NYCT's Flushing (#7) Line is now coming to fruition. A number of technologies have recently been installed, including wayside systems to automatically measure wheel profiles, lateral and vertical forces and truck performance. A test train consist meanwhile includes two instrumented wheelsets, energy use monitors, and acoustic and vibration measurements. The data from these systems is being processed individually by the systems' vendors and also jointly to develop a series of integrated analytics to leverage Automated Track Inspection Research efforts and to address concepts to enhance Operational Safety and strengthen the Resiliency of the Transit Rail System. Project goals, descriptions and current status of the employed technologies and preliminary analytic results will be reviewed in this presentation.
