Role of Machine Vision in Monitoring Vehicle and Track Condition
This presentation will discuss rail industry machine vision systems intended for vehicle health and track heath. It will dive into the common inner workings of the commonly used machine vision systems and techniques to help understand how they work and what are they are accomplishing. Topics that will be covered will be different camera types, processing methodologies, and applications such as coupler securement inspection and joint bar inspection. Lastly, new machine vision technologies and techniques will be discussed and how they will shape the future of rail industry measurement practices.
